Video: ‘Are you m@d, Am I married to him? Stop asking me about Kabza everyday’ – DJ Maphorisa says he’s tired of questions about Kabza

DJ Maphorisa, real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, is a multi-hitmaker who is well-known for expressing his opinions on social media.

The Soshanguve-born amapiano hitmaker, who frequently engages with his followers through live social media engagement, went live on Instagram recently, only to be irritated by a viewer who inquired about the whereabouts of his companion Kabza De Small.

The Mnike hitmaker, who also runs the music company Blaqboy Music, advised fans not to bother asking him where Kabza is whenever they encounter or interact with him.

In answer to a question from a fan during his Instagram Live session, he revealed the whereabouts of the Imithandazo hitmaker, whose true name is Kabelo Motha.

He said: “These persons asking me about Kabza as if I’m married to him, Kabza is married, he has a wife. Are you crazy? Don’t you know that he has his own house? Can’t you see he has a house, a studio, must I live with him? Are you mad?”

He continued,

“Why don’t you go on his Instagram and ask him where he is? Where’s Kabza, where’s Kabza, where’s your mother and grandmother? I thought I was bringing in positive energy and there you are asking me about Kabza as if he doesn’t have a life that he needs to live, he must always be seen with me. You are mad. ”

It is well known that Kabza and Maphorisa share a strong fraternity.

Maphorisa talked candidly about their meeting when they were interviewed on the Street Fame Culture podcast in December 2023.

I began following him when he amazed me with the tunes he was playing.

Then he continued, expressing his amazement at Kabza’s performance: “I thought, ‘Oh, this guy has his own world that he created.'” Maphorisa said, “I asked him, ‘No bro, let’s work together,’ because I couldn’t just let him be.”

He taught me a lot about how the amapiano genre functions since he did it in his own unique style. I began going to concerts to watch him perform for audiences. Kabza gave me great advice.
